Nature Club Activity Report (20/03/2026)

The Nature Club of Navajyothi College of Teacher Education for Women, Olarikkara, conducted an activity on 20th March 2026 at 1:30 PM under the guidance of Shri. Ranjith J. Six members of the Nature Club actively participated in this activity.

The main objective was to develop awareness about plant biodiversity within the college campus. As part of the activity, the students collected and analysed detailed information about various plants in the garden area. The details included the scientific names, family names, and medicinal uses of the plants.

Based on the collected information, the members designed and prepared informative cards for each plant. The cards were printed in a size of 10 cm in length and 6 cm in width. These cards were then neatly attached to the respective plants in the garden, helping students and visitors easily identify and understand them.

The activity was informative and meaningful, promoting environmental awareness and encouraging students to value the importance of plants and their uses.

Conclusion

The activity was successfully carried out with active participation and proper guidance. It contributed to making the campus more informative and environmentally conscious.




Label Making (31/03/2026)

 On 31/03/2026, we, the members of the Nature Club, consisting of six students, conducted an activity in the presence of our teacher in charge, Ranjith Sir. We focused on identifying various plants in our college garden using a plant identification app. We prepared plant labels for each plant, including its name, scientific name, and medicinal uses. Each label was made with a size of 10 cm × 6 cm . This activity helped us to create awareness about plant identification and their medicinal importance. The activity was successfully completed.




Plant Labelling

 On 24/03/2026, the Nature Club, consisting of six students, conducted an activity in the presence of teacher in-charge Ranjith J. The students focused on vegetable and medicinal plants in the college garden. They labelled each plant with its name, scientific name, and medicinal uses, creating awareness about plant identification and their importance. The activity was successfully completed.







Dead Water, Dying Future

The Nature Club of Navajyothi College of Teacher Education for Women, Olarikkara organized a programme titled “Dead Water, Dying Future” on 9 October 2025, in connection with World Cleanup Day. The event aimed to create awareness among students about the alarming levels of water pollution and to encourage sustainable practices to protect aquatic ecosystems.

The programme commenced with a prayer led by Krishna K. J., followed by an announcement by Anupama Roy. The welcome address was delivered by Andrea Xavier, who warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the importance of environmental conservation.

A presentation was conducted by Arsha K. M., Aiswarya K., Sr. Catherine Joseph, and Lishma Silvester. The presentation, supported by an informative slide show, effectively depicted the causes, effects, and possible solutions to water body pollution. The visuals and explanations provided a clear understanding of how human negligence affects aquatic life and the environment at large.

Though prize distribution was scheduled, it was postponed due to technical difficulties. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Tessa Mary, who expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers for their contribution to the success of the event.

The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of an informative and inspiring session. The programme successfully fulfilled its objective of promoting environmental awareness and responsibility among student-teachers.



Report on the Nature Club Programme “Energy Conservation Day”

 The Nature Club of Navajyothi College of Teacher Education for Women Olarikkara organized a programme on 17 December 2025 in observance of Energy Conservation Day. The programme aimed to create awareness among student-teachers about the importance of conserving energy and adopting sustainable practices for a greener future.

The programme was anchored by Aparna M and commenced with a prayer led by Krishnapriya K. M. and Lakshmipriya K. M. invoking a sense of responsibility towards nature. The welcome address was delivered by Malavika K. S. who warmly welcomed the gathering. The prayer was followed by an introduction by Angel Jenson highlighting the significance of energy conservation in daily life.

An engaging quiz competition was organized by the Nature Club and the quiz master was Nandana K. R. who actively involved students and enhanced their awareness of energy-related issues. The programme also included the announcement of results of a photography contest conducted on 9 October 2025 in connection with World Clean-up Day on the theme of pollution showcasing students’ creative engagement with environmental issues.

Prizes were distributed by Vice Principal Rev. Sr. Dr. K. V. Princy. The first prize was awarded to the Natural Science option, second prize to the Malayalam option and the third prize to the Mathematics option. The winner of the photography contest was Mariya Babu (Mathematics option) whose work was appreciated for its creativity and relevance to the theme.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Lakshmi M who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all organizers, participants and faculty members for their support and cooperation. Heartfelt thanks were offered to Shri. Renjith in charge of the Nature Club for his guidance and support. Special regards were also extended to Chelsea Maria and Divya Maria C. J. for their assistance with ICT arrangements and to Nithya Das and Lijitha N. V. for their help with Waves ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.

The programme brochure was prepared by Andrea Xavier and the presentation was designed by Aneeshya. The session concluded with the National Anthem marking the end of an informative and meaningful programme. The event was successful in instilling awareness and responsibility among student-teachers regarding energy conservation.
